Crisis at the DWP: Take Action
If we have learned anything from the last two summers of power blackouts and continuing threats to our water supply, it is that the Management at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power may not be up to the challenge of coping with the demands of a growing population, increasing temperatures in our city, and threats like an earthquake or terrorist attack.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 18, which represents 8,000 employees at the Department of Water and Power is
has created this video in an attempt to inform you about the crisis in the Department of Water and Power and to ask for your help in getting the
decision makers at the DWP to take the steps necessary to ensure safe and reliable water and power to all Los Angeles residents.
Watch this short video, and then contact the following decision makers and ask them what they are doing to properly staff and update the water and power systems in our city.
